Holidays are round the corner

Inspired by Monsieur Tati and Mr Hulot’s Holiday – a funny french comedy from 1953, this photo story in cooperation with H&M Studio Kids collection comes just in the right time… when we start longing for sun and summer holidays. They will catch us faster than we think, but meanwhile, let’s enjoy Tati and fill our kids wardrobes with items from the latest collection, that looks more vintage cool than ever.

Māksla ir būtiska ikviena cilvēka dzīves sastāvdaļa, kuru apzināti kā izglītojošu formu varam piedāvāt saviem bērniem jau no pavisam maza vecuma. Gluži tāpat kā ritmisks pantiņš būtu pirmā pareizākā forma, lai attīstītu mīlestību pret grāmatām, Mocarts būtu pirmais komponists, kas raisītu mīlestību pret akadēmisko mūziku, tāpat neuzspiesta mākslas forma, vai tā būtu glezna, skulptūra, video, galvenais tik ilgi, kamēr bērns pats to vēlas aplūkot, raisīs izpratni pieaugot.  Continue reading

It is impossible to find a more complete fusion with nature than that of a Gypsy [FRANZ LISZT]… where you hear murmurs of water, whispers of wind and fire, children laughs, midnight dancing and mixing of fabrics and flowing materials. Continue reading

I’ve been with Paade Mode since their first kids fashion collection, working on ideas, style and setting the future goals, but last season Paade’s artistic director Linda approached me and asked if I’d like to work on a collaboration collection. So I did a nice capsule, starring my daughter Maya. As it was super successful, and we are not only selling in NYC, South Corea and many other worldwide spots, but also got great reviews from leading mags, like Kidswear Magazine, etc…I asked if they would let me deal with the teenage market! And here is a beautiful result – bold, colorful and chic street style with a boho attitude. Continue reading

Fashion lessons by Olivier Rousteing

Last night was all about pop culture and glamor of 80s/90s and futuristic underground life, but to be shorter, official presentation of Balmain x H&M. I was happy to be part of this big party that took place in Wall Street, New York. The collection was strongly linked to Balmain’s DNA and celebrated designer’s Olivier Rousteing’s personal experience and identity. On the catwalk we saw top supermodels, like Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Karlie Kloss and many others, but the grand finale was a real hit – amazing performance by legendary Backstreet Boys, which I found quite COOL. It gave a real feeling of a huge house party, and I shouldn’t even point out that every single person new the lyrics (including me). Hilarious! But that is only the sparkling part of it all, as earlier that day I went for an interview with Olivier and wrote down 17 quotes… entertaining guy he is and a very talented one, I must admit! #kidsgazettetravel Venice

This was my second time in Venice, but felt like the first one. Everything was different, but as we know our destinations can be the same, but if you have a different company… I was also much better prepared this time, with must-visit sights on my map, suggested restaurants, but above all – Venice Art Biennale. At the end of this 3 day trip I was full of impressions, many mistakes made and a decision to return in a few years. Continue reading

Desperate optimist

Last week was a crazy run. You know, since September when kids started going to school/kindergarten, dances, sports…attending all that stuff that makes their life more exciting (and mine much less) as with every day more and more I become a crazy lady driver taking them back and forth through out the town. And above all that, I’m still trying to earn something for living. Thanks God, I love my work, because otherwise I’d become a mad man. Continue reading

Continue reading
