Endless summer evenings, friends, no city buzz and I am in my cabin. A perfect house outside vertically built center – near the sea, in the forest… wherever, but it has an amazing view and a perfect atmosphere. One word describes it all – SIMPLICITY. This book by Taschen CABINS is on the list to become one of the greatest inspirations when I’ll be thinking of my own summer house, driving on the fast track and listening to Bruce Springsteen’s Streets of Philadelphia.
In the book celebrated architectural writer Philip Jodidio surveys a wide variety of cabins all over the world, focusing on green building innovations, creative use of space, and the idea of “refuge dwelling.” Equally important to Jodidio’s insights are the graphic illustrations of the cabins by Marie-laure Cruschi of Paris-based Crushiform Art.
