Let’s talk physics

ENLafetedelascienceaulabo4

At school I was good in literature and art, worse in mathematics and biology, but quite bad in chemistry in physics. And you know what, I think it’s not only because I’m an artist type, but because it was hell boring at school. How can you as a kid get interested about light, energy, atoms etc. only from books? You have to see it, to touch it, feel it, hear it, smell it!

I’m more than happy that in these past years the system has changed, and now from next semester in Latvia we will have a secondary school for the young engineers – RTU Inženierzinātņu vidusskola, with the best teachers and a modern laboratory.

But in this post I wanted to share some great finds on this topic.

A MUPPET SHOW AND PHYSICS DEMONSTRATION

A fantastic DIY Physics Circus can be used by science explainers and museums, researchers, or teachers to engage the public with quantum physics. With an easy presentation you can easily speak about: levitation, temperature effect, vortex pinning, position memory.

PHYSICS EXPLAINED VIA COMICS

A comic style story about Physics world, as seen from the inside by a cartoonist. Fun to read even if you are not engaged in this topic! CHECK IT HERE!

If you are keen to follow the new ways to present modern physics, then you should hang around this PAGE, (and press AUTRES PRODUCTIONS) led by a group of Laboratoire de Physique des Splides, who work on new ways of presenting solid state physics and recent discoveries to large public. Articles, videos, drawings and many more.

VISIT IN RIGA
